Pitched roof installation and renovation.
More than replacing the covering.
For houses and apartment buildings in Ljubljana and central Slovenia. In renovation and new construction, we bring the covering, supporting structure, protective layers, ventilation and drainage together in an agreed scope of work.

What we inspect before replacing the roof covering
Damaged roof coverings, leaks around a chimney or worn flashings do not always require the same extent of renovation. We assess which parts can remain and which need work, considering the visible condition of the timber, the layers beneath the covering and how the attic is used. Hidden damage revealed during opening is documented and addressed separately.
- Roof covering, battens and visible condition of the roof structure
- Layers beneath the covering and ventilation
- Chimneys, roof windows, flashings and gutters
New roof covering and thermal insulation
The choice of covering depends on the pitch, load-bearing capacity, roof design and the selected system's instructions. When replacing the covering or changing the use of the attic, we assess the effect of the new build-up on the structure. If insulation is included, thermal protection, airtightness and water vapour movement must form a coordinated solution. Any required structural assessments are defined before work starts.
What a renovation quote should include
Besides the covering, we define removal and disposal, work on battens or the roof structure, protective layers, flashings, gutters and other agreed details. Any thermal insulation is listed separately. Access, building height, roof complexity and site organisation are considered when defining scope and cost.
Work on an occupied building
Opening the roof must be coordinated with the weather and temporary protection. Before starting, we define access, delivery and removal arrangements, and protection of the surrounding area. On completion, we inspect the details and drainage and hand over the agreed documentation. On apartment buildings, we also coordinate with the property manager or owners' representative.
Frequently asked questions
Does replacing the covering include a new roof structure?
Only if this is part of the agreed scope. The roof structure is assessed separately; replacing the covering does not automatically mean replacing all the timber.
Can attic insulation be added at the same time?
This must be considered together with how the space is used and the complete roof build-up. Thermal protection and moisture management must be coordinated.
What most affects the cost of a pitched roof?
Besides area, key factors include roof complexity, access, building height, the chosen covering, substrate condition and the number of details. Quotes must also define the same scope for insulation, sheet-metal work, protection and disposal to allow comparison.
What information do you need for an initial assessment?
The location, approximate area, type and age of the covering, and a description of the problem or planned renovation. Add photographs of the whole roof and accessible details, and tell us whether the attic is used as living space.
